ABOUT THE GAME
DOTS & LINES is a roll and write game in which players create connections on special Game Sheets.
The game uses digital QRious Cards. After pressing the ROLL button, a randomly selected element made of dots connected by lines appears on the phone screen.
Each card also contains additional information that determines how the selected element can be used. The symbol in the upper left corner indicates whether the element may be rotated, while the number in the upper right corner shows how many times it may be used: 1, 2, or 3 times.
The main element that the player draws on the Game Sheet is shown in the center of the card. Below it, arrows indicate how the element should be connected to the existing pattern. Dark brown arrows show the direction or directions from which the element must be connected. Faded arrows mean that the element may be connected in any direction.
The player uses the selected element according to the information shown on the card and the rules of the chosen variant.
DOTS & LINES includes four game variants. Each one uses the same digital elements but has its own objective, Game Sheet, and way of playing.

PREPARATION
Open DOTS & LINES QRious Cards Edition on your phone and prepare the Game Sheet for the selected variant.
All Game Sheets for the available variants, including blank sheets for creating your own ideas, are included in one PDF file.
Prepare something to draw with as well. Individual variants may have additional requirements regarding the number of players, colors, or the way elements are marked. These are explained in the rules for each variant.
GAMEPLAY
Players take turns. On your turn, press the ROLL button. A randomly selected element made of dots connected by lines appears on the phone screen.
Draw the selected element on your own or shared Game Sheet, depending on the rules of the chosen variant. Each new element connects to the existing pattern by using an already drawn dot as a connection point.
After finishing your move, the next player presses ROLL and takes their turn.
SPECIAL ELEMENTS
Two special symbols may also appear among the randomly selected elements.
- Diamond with X represents a blockage and limits where connections can be created.
- Diamond with a dot may provide additional points.
The exact effect of each special symbol depends on the selected game variant.
GAME VARIANTS
VARIANT 1
CONNECTION
The goal is to score as many points as possible by connecting the diamonds shown on the shared Game Sheet.
Different types of diamonds have different point values, and the black dots inside them serve as connection points. Players take turns pressing ROLL, drawing the selected elements, and building connections between the diamonds. Before the game begins, players may decide whether selected elements must keep the orientation shown on the screen or may be rotated. The black vertical and horizontal lines on the Game Sheet are blockages and cannot be crossed. The player with the highest score wins.
VARIANT 2
METRO
The goal is to connect the main metro station in the center of the Game Sheet to as many destination stations as possible. Each player uses their own Game Sheet and develops their network using elements selected with ROLL.
The first player to connect the main station to a destination station claims that station. The other players must then continue toward the remaining available stations. If a player draws the X symbol, they may place a blockage on another player’s Game Sheet. Each claimed station is worth 100 points. The player with the highest score wins.
VARIANT 3
ONE AFTER ANOTHER
The goal is to connect the numbered points on the Game Sheet in the correct order.
Each player begins by creating a connection between points 1 and 2. Elements selected with ROLL are used to gradually extend the route. When one player completes the current connection first, all players move on to the next pair: 2 to 3, then 3 to 4, and so on.
Each connection completed first is worth 100 points. The player with the highest score wins.
VARIANT 4
BLACK DOT
The goal is to connect as many black dots as possible inside the different shapes shown on the Game Sheet. The game can be played individually or in teams.
Players press ROLL and use the selected elements to create connections. Connections must remain inside the selected shape and may not extend beyond its outline. If a player cannot correctly add the selected element, they skip their turn. Each completed connection is worth 20 points. The player or team with the highest score wins.
YOUR GAME, YOUR RULES
DOTS & LINES also allows you to create your own game variants. You can change the objectives, scoring, and additional rules, or use the blank Game Sheets to create your own layouts. Experiment with the elements and create new ways to play.
