INTRODUCTION
JUMPIQ is a two-player game where movement is not given — it has to be created. Each player controls two Jumpers and a set of four Nodes. The goal of the Jumpers is to reach the opponent’s starting fields, but they can only move if the arrangement of Nodes allows it.
By changing the position of Nodes, you create new movement paths for your Jumpers. There is a catch — the same setup works for both players. Each of you can use it to your advantage.
The rules are simple, but every decision matters. The right placement of Nodes can open a path to victory or block it completely. Your goal is to use the available possibilities and be the first to move your Jumpers onto your opponent’s starting fields.
RULES
Goal of the game
Move your Jumpers onto your opponent’s starting fields.
The first player to do so wins.
Board and setup
The game is played on a 6 × 6 board.
Outside the board are the starting fields:
- red (with dots) — for red Jumpers
- blue (with dots) — for blue Jumpers
- transparent (with dots) — for white Nodes
At the start of the game:
- place your Jumpers on your colored starting fields
- place your Nodes on the designated starting positions
Once placed on the board, all Nodes become shared — from that moment, both players can move any Node.
Player turn
On your turn, perform one move:
- move a Jumper
- or move a Node
Jumper movement
Jumpers move by jumping over Nodes.
they can jump in any direction
they can perform multiple jumps in one turn, if the Nodes allow it
you may stop at any time
Entering the opponent’s starting fields
You can enter the opponent’s starting fields only from two designated spaces on the board — these are the yellow spaces.
Each of these spaces allows different entry directions:
- from one space, you can enter only straight forward
- from the other space, you can enter straight forward or diagonally
To enter the opponent’s field, a Jumper must use a Node.
There are two ways:
- if a Node is directly in front of the Jumper, you jump over it and enter the opponent’s field
- if a Node is behind the Jumper, you roll the die — if you roll 1, you bounce off the Node and enter the opponent’s field
Entering the opponent’s field ends the move.
Node movement
A Node can move in two ways:
- one space in any direction
- or like a chess knight (L-shape)
A Node must always land on a free space
and cannot return to the space it moved from in the previous turn.
If your opponent moved a Node, you cannot use that same Node in your next turn.
Board rules
Only one piece may occupy a space.
Nodes are never removed from the game — they only block movement and shape possible paths.
GAME MODES
Variant 1 — Classic
Jumpers can only jump over Nodes.
The game focuses on planning and building paths.
Variant 2 — Interactive
At the beginning of the game:
each player places 1 yellow token on any space on the board
Jumping over opponent
Jumpers can also jump over the opponent’s Jumpers.
If you do:
- the opponent’s Jumper returns to its starting field
- your move ends immediately
TOKENS AND CARDS
If a Jumper ends its move on a token:
- draw an online card
- follow its instructions
After that:
move the token to any free space on the board
Rules:
- only Jumpers can activate tokens
- Nodes cannot enter a space occupied by a token
CHOOSING THE VARIANT
Before the game, choose which variant you want to play.
ZIP & PLAY – GAME FORMAT
JUMPIQ uses the ZIP & PLAY system, based on two elements made from the same durable fabric:
- ZIP Board — a flexible game board
- ZIP Tray — a foldable tray for game components
The ZIP Tray is stored inside the ZIP Board, forming one compact and easy-to-carry set.
open the zipper → take out the ZIP Tray → unfold the board → start playing
That’s the idea of ZIP & PLAY — open and play.
The set is designed to minimize setup time and keep everything organized. All components are stored together and ready to use immediately.
The flexible board construction handles frequent folding and transport while maintaining durability and ease of use.
The ZIP Tray also serves as a practical space to keep the game organized during play.
You can set up JUMPIQ almost anywhere — for best comfort, a flat surface is recommended.
