What is the Dice Card System?

The Dice Card System is an offline alternative to Online Card Extensions, created for 8doodles Personalized Board Games. It was designed to give players access to card based gameplay when a smartphone or internet connection is not available, without requiring a traditional deck of printable cards.

Using three dice and specially prepared printable pages, the system provides access to up to 72 different card results in a compact format. There are no individual cards to cut out, shuffle, or carry, making it a practical offline companion to the digital Online Card Extension.

How the Dice Card System Works

The Dice Card System uses three standard six sided dice to select a card result from specially prepared printable pages. Two white dice determine the two number values, from 1 to 6. The third, black die determines whether the final reference uses P or N:

• P for an even roll (2, 4, or 6)
• N for an odd roll (1, 3, or 5).

For example, if the two white dice show 3 and 3 and the black die shows an even number, the result is 3 3 P. The player then finds 3 3 P on the printed pages, reads the corresponding card, and follows its action, challenge, instruction, or other game specific content.

This combination of two number values and an even or odd result creates 72 possible card references. All card content remains organized on the printable pages, so there is no need to print and cut out 72 individual cards, shuffle a deck, or carry additional card components.

Online or Offline. You Choose.

Every 8doodles Personalized Board Game includes a dedicated Online Card Extension together with its Dice Card System alternative. Both are designed to support the same physical game while giving players different ways to access additional card based content.

Use the Online Card Extension when you want to access the cards directly on your smartphone. Choose the Dice Card System when you prefer to play completely offline or when internet access is unavailable.

There is no need to change the game, its rules, or its physical components. Simply choose the method that works best for where and how you want to play.

What do I need to use the Dice Card System?

You need the printable Dice Card System pages and three standard six sided dice. No smartphone, app, or internet connection is required.

What do P and N mean?

The third, black die determines whether you use P or N. P represents an even result of 2, 4, or 6, while N represents an odd result of 1, 3, or 5.

Why are there 72 possible card results?

The two number dice create 36 possible number combinations. Each combination can appear with either P or N, creating up to 72 unique card references.

Do I need to print and cut out individual cards?

No. All card results are organized on printable pages. You simply roll the dice, find the matching reference, and read the corresponding content.

Do I need special dice?

No special dice are required. The system uses three standard six sided dice. Two dice are used for the number values, while the third die determines the P or N result.

Is the Dice Card System included with every Personalized Board Game?

Yes. Every 8doodles Personalized Board Game includes a Dice Card System version of its standard Online Card Extension.

Does the Dice Card System replace the Online Card Extension?

No. It provides an alternative way to access card based content. You can use the Online Card Extension on your smartphone or choose the Dice Card System when you want to play offline.

Can additional Online Card collections use the Dice Card System?

Selected additional Online Card collections may also be available in Dice Card System format. Availability depends on the individual collection.
