What Are Online Card Extensions?

Online Card Extensions are digital card collections designed to expand 8doodles Personalized Board Games with additional challenges, questions, knowledge, actions, events, and other gameplay content.

Every 8doodles Personalized Board Game includes a dedicated Online Card Extension created specifically for that game. Players access the cards directly on a smartphone, adding new actions, challenges, and unexpected situations without changing the original physical game.

The standard Online Card Extension is included with the game and does not require an 8doodles Membership. Players can also explore additional compatible Online Card sets when available. Depending on the game, Action Cards may be replaced or expanded with Knowledge Cards, Trivia Cards, Challenge Cards, or other compatible collections, creating new ways to play with the same physical game.

For offline play, the content of the standard Online Card Extension can also be accessed through the Dice Card System, providing an alternative way to use the extension without a smartphone or internet connection.

Online Card Extensions as Expandable Content

Physical board games remain unchanged once they are produced. Online Card Extensions allow 8doodles Personalized Board Games to grow beyond their original content by introducing new card collections over time.

Depending on the game, players can use different collections to introduce new questions, challenges, knowledge, actions, events, or other gameplay elements. Changing the selected card collection can give the same game a different character without requiring new physical components or a new edition of the game.

As new Online Card collections become available, supported games can continue to offer fresh ways to play and new reasons to return to them.

Dice Card System for Offline Play

The standard Online Card Extension included with each 8doodles Personalized Board Game is also available for offline play through the Dice Card System.

Using three dice and printable content, players can access up to 72 card results without a smartphone or internet connection. Selected additional Online Card collections may also include an offline version when available.

Online Card Extensions can introduce different types of content depending on the game and the way they are designed to support its gameplay. Some collections focus on actions or challenges, while others add knowledge, questions, decisions, rewards, stories, or unexpected events.

A game may include or recommend a specific type of Online Cards, while additional compatible collections can sometimes be used to create a different style of gameplay.
